October 28th has been selected for the event!
A storybook come to life...
Welcome to the Tales of the Berry King website. We will try to keep this site up to date as we draw closer to our grand medieval themed party.
The date has been chosen by our guests that have replied to their invitations.
The in-person event will take place on:
October 28th
A family from the York English Congregation.
This event is to be a storybook come to life and so we didn't want to break the immersion of the storybook world by focusing too much on the people involved. We wanted our guest’s imaginations can run wild. Just like when reading a story, it is left to the reader to paint a picture of each character and world as they read. This is also the reason why details of the story are going to unfold over time as the story is told. So, just like a person may go to see a movie or read a book without knowing every detail ahead of time, this story’s details will be revealed over time.
The event will be held at a York English congregation family home with lots of space and no neighbors close by.
No. lol
Nope. Although we are not perfect, and there is no way for us to know what things may bother a person's conscience, we are trying our best to make sure that nobody is bothered by this event or story.
It is mainly focused on children and adults who still possess an active imagination and a joy of art.
Wearing a costume is not required, but the more friends that participate in creating their own characters, the grander the event will be. Have fun with it! There is a lot of time till the event, so you may be able to take advantage of sales for props and materials. You can also DIY it and have even more fun while possibly saving some money. Remember, it doesn't have to be elaborate. I humble farmer would be nice.
This is a custom Google Drive form. The information entered into the form is only accessible by the friends coordinating the event. The information may be used at some point to get in touch with you about the event.
The books are written with a more colorful/expressive vocabulary than would normally be found in most young children's books. Because of this, these events, situations, and emotions are expressed with a higher intensity then that may be used to in their books.
Just like movies may have a rating that advice parents to provide young children with guidance, we thought it would be wise to do the same. It is still a children's book, so it shouldn't be too bad. Just read it ahead of time as advised, and you should be able to determine for yourself if it is too much for them. Only a child's own parents know what their kids are capable of handling.
